Rachel Clark is a barrister and an associate at Bright Line Law, specialising in cases involving tax avoidance and tax evasion. She accepts instructions to advise and represent clients in the High Court, Crown Court and Magistrates Courts, and the Tax Tribunals.

Typically, Rachel's cases will involve a tax investigation or dispute with revenue authorities relating to tax irregularities which have triggered potential liability under the money laundering and proceeds of crime legislation (such as civil recovery, cash forfeiture, taxation of unexplained income, unexplained wealth orders, confiscation or money laundering issues).

In addition, Rachel undertakes general civil work and welcomes instructions in cases ranging from family law to disputes involving property and possession actions.

Rachel qualified as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2015 and was awarded Higher Rights of Audience in 2017. She subsequently qualified as a barrister and has full rights of audience in England and Wales. She trained, qualified and then practised for three years as a tax solicitor at Hogan Lovells International LLP, specialising in tax disputes - guiding clients through their interactions with HMRC and before the Tax Tribunals and the Companies Court. As part of the London tax team, Rachel advised on corporate, finance and stamp tax issues. Pre-qualification, she spent 6 months working in-house in the equity derivatives team of a major international bank.

A strong believer in giving back to the community, Rachel has won pro bono cases before the First-tier Tribunal (Social Security and Child Support) and Family Court and contributed to a pro bono application for permission to appeal to the Supreme Court of England & Wales.
