Stefan Fafinski is a cyber consultant with Bright Line Law and works closely with BLL’s Lead Counsel Jonathan Fisher QC and clients to analyse, resolve and consult on all cyber law related matters. Stefan is an internationally-recognised expert in technology law, particularly cybercrime and intellectual property law. He spent the first 15 years of his career in software development, project and programme management, technology research and development and technology consulting.

Stefan has taught undergraduate and postgraduate technology law in a number of Universities and is currently a Research Associate of the Oxford Internet Institute in the University of Oxford. He has supervised and examined several doctorates in cyberlaw and cybercrime covering jurisdictions including Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Nigeria. He is also a member of the editorial board of the International Review of Law, Computers and Technology.

Stefan acts as an independent consultant to many law firms and commercial organisations in his areas of expertise. He is also an independent member of the Parole Board and serves as Master of the City of London Livery Company (2017-18) for IT where he was founder Chairman of its Law Panel. Stefan holds a BA in Natural Sciences from St John's College, Cambridge, a first class LLB and a PhD on the regulation and governance of computer technologies.
