The SFO case against Barclays explained – ITN News

On 20 June 2017, the SFO charged Barclays and former senior executives with criminal offences following a five year investigation into circumstances surrounding the £11.8bn emergency funds raised by the bank in 2008.  The Bank, along with four identified senior officers of the bank, are charged with conspiracy to commit fraud whilst two of those individuals also face charges of unlawful financial assistance.

Jonathan Fisher QC has been interviewed in an ITV news report explaining the SFO case against Barclays executives. Jonathan Fisher QC commented on the likely consequences for the bank and the senior officers who were in charge.
